About ValuationsLab

Build the model. Write the research. Publish it.

What ValuationsLab is

ValuationsLab is an equity valuation and research workspace. It gives you the models an analyst would otherwise rebuild in Excel — DCF, three-statement, trading comparables, precedent transactions, LBO, sum-of-the-parts, dividend discount, WACC and sensitivity — pre-built, transparent, and running on live company data. Around the models sits a full research layer: business and segment breakdowns, ten-year financial trends, valuation history, analyst estimates, ownership filings, news and deals.

When the work is done, it leaves the platform with you: formula-driven Excel models, branded Word and PowerPoint documents, and research reports you can publish to a shareable page under your own byline.

The goal

The goal is simple: collapse the distance between having a view on a company and producing credible, professional research that backs it. A terminal costs more than most analysts' tools budget; a spreadsheet from scratch costs a weekend. ValuationsLab aims to give independent analysts, newsletter writers, students and finance professionals institutional-grade output in minutes — with the judgement always left where it belongs: with the analyst.

Vision

We believe the next generation of equity research won't come only from banks — it will come from independent analysts publishing under their own names. ValuationsLab wants to be the workspace that generation works in: engines that are rigorous and auditable, data that is live and sourced, an AI copilot that does the busywork but never makes the call, and a publishing layer that turns good analysis into a portfolio and a reputation.

Every design decision follows three principles: transparency (every formula documented, every assumption traceable to its source), honesty(the tool warns you when a model doesn't fit a company, rather than printing a confident wrong number), and ownership (your assumptions, your rating, your byline — the platform never issues recommendations).

Data & methodology

ValuationsLab runs on institutional-grade market and fundamental data, sourced from primary company filings and exchange feeds through licensed data partners and official SEC EDGAR filings — not scraped or estimated. The coverage available to the platform spans:

70,000+
securities across major global exchanges
30+ yrs
of fundamentals & daily price history
10+ yrs
of analyst estimates & call transcripts
6 classes
equities, ETFs, funds, FX, crypto, commodities

Every figure is traceable to its source: audit exports tag each value as user input, market data, AI-suggested, or computed, and each major calculation is documented in the in-app Methodology panel with its formula and academic reference (Damodaran, CFA curriculum, Rosenbaum & Pearl).

Quotes are live where available and exchange-delayed where a market requires it; depth of coverage varies by exchange and asset class. Always verify a figure against its primary source before relying on it.
